His singles "Rock Your Body" and "Faithful Girl" are being played on various Internet radio and terrestrial stations across the united states and parts of Africa. Twicy was also the winner of the CMA's (Central Music Awards) artist of the year! Read all about what this bright young vocalist has to say.
The Media Blast: How are you Twicy?
Twicy: I am good by Gods grace hope you are too.
The Media Blast: Why do you call yourself Twicy? Where did the name come from?
Twicy: I call myself Twicy because I have got two eyes to see well in the music industry and I don't flop in whatever that I do. I'm on top of my game and with my two eyes widely opened I always win.
The name Twicy came from 3 words combined and they are "two", "eyes" and "see".
The Media Blast: What part of Ghana are you from and how is the music scene / industry there?
Twicy: I come from Agona Swedru in the central region of GHANA. In my town there is lot of love for music and the industry only wanna see you with money before they accept you. Its kinda hard to breakthrough with your music without investing more. They also wanna see you come up with new things and flashy music videos and lifestyle then everybody start following you and liking your music.
The Media Blast: How long have you been singing and making music?
Twicy: Started singing with the school choir in the year 2009 performing hit songs like freedom by Akon, Watchasay by Jason Derulo and other songs in the year 2011 and wrote my first song in the year 2012 since then I have been singing and writing to date so let say I have been making music for like 10 years now.
The Media Blast: What inspired you to make music?
Twicy: I didn't have the courage to propose to a lady so i will write love letters and then start singing them myself and then one day this was by myside and I wrote this love letter and because I was afraid to approach her I started singing with words in the letter and she feel in love with it and I took it from there. I started making music all the time and it was mostly about love so the love for ladies inspired me to make music I would say.
The Media Blast: Who are some of your musical influences and inspirations?
Twicy: Akon, Michael Jackson, Ne Yo, Soulja Boy, Jason Derulo, R. Kelly, Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Stonebwoy, Wizkid and Davido.
The Media Blast: How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Twicy: As an artist I see myself as a genius, hardworking ,determined and versatile.
The Media Blast: What projects are you currently working on?
Twicy: Currently working on new songs, particular one that I recorded with legendary producer Appietus here in Ghana and we also have a new song and its visuals in the pipeline thanks to my manager Moses Dailey for making that possible.
The Media Blast: You have two new singles out, "Rock Your Body" and "Faithful Girl", how would you describe those songs for those who haven't heard them yet?
Twicy: My song rock your body and faithful girl are very powerful music that will hit your soul and set it free so all those who haven't heard it should do well to listen to it.
The Media Blast: Who all have you worked with?
Twicy: I have worked with lot of artist including Ghana's number one rapper called Koo Ntakra and the song we worked on not out yet though.
The Media Blast: Who would you like to work with in the future?
Twicy: I would love to work with every good artist cuz I can also learn from them and to expand my fan base and easily get heard I will like to work with Akon, Rihanna, Wizkid, Davido and whole lot of big artists.
The Media Blast: Speaking of the future, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Twicy: If I am able to get the resources to push my work to highest level then I would say in 5 years time I will be winning the Grammys, BET, Africa Music Awards and be one of the top most artists in the world.
The Media Blast: What plans do you have for the rest of 2019?
Twicy: My plans are to get more hit songs and shoot classic videos this year 2019. We gonna blow this year.
The Media Blast: Is there anything else you would like to plug, any shout outs? Anything you would like to mention that we didn't mention already?
